Every year death from heart disease
Cardiovascular diseases are the number 1 cause of death globally, taking an estimated 18.1 million lives each year.
Cardiovascular diseases are a group of disorders of the heart and blood vessels and include coronary heart disease, rheumatic heart disease and other conditions.
About 665,000 Americans die from heart disease each year - that's 1 in every 4 deaths.
One person dies every 35 seconds in the United States from cardiovascular disease and it costs the United States about $320 billion each year from 2017 to 2018. This includes the cost of health care services, medicines, and lost productivity due to death.
About 1 in 5 heart attacks are silent - the damage is done, but the person is not aware of it. You can have a heart attack and not even know it. A silent heart attack, known as a silent myocardial infarction (SMI), account for 45% of heart attacks and strike men more than women.
They are described as "silent" because when they occur, their symptoms lack the intensity of a classic heart attack, such as extreme chest pain and pressure; stabbing pain in the arm, neck, or jaw; sudden shortness of breath; sweating, and dizziness.
What heart doctor says ?
For years, people who suffered heart attacks but didn't have major blockages in their arteries — a condition called myocardial infarction with nonobstructive coronary arteries (MINOCA) — were thought to have a less serious form of heart disease.
But most of the time doctors recommend them only three solutions as a treatment which is angiography, angioplasty and CABG (coronary artery bypass grafting), either they are important or not at that time.
But what are these treatments ?
Let me tell you in short !
Angiography is a procedure that allows doctors to look at blood vessels in great detail using X-rays. If the doctors identify a narrowed portion (stenosis) of a blood vessel during the angiography procedure, they may stretch or widen it straightaway using a procedure called an angioplasty.
Coronary angioplasty is a medical procedure in which a balloon is used to open blocked or narrowed arteries. An angioplasty can be used to treat problems in many areas of the body. This procedure improves blood flow to the heart.
When both of the above treatments fail to open blocked arteries, doctors go through CABG (coronary artery bypass grafting), also known as heart bypass surgery.
Coronary artery bypass grafting(CABG) is a procedure to improve poor blood flow to the heart. CABG uses blood vessels from another part of the body and connects them to blood vessels above and below the narrowed artery, bypassing the narrowed or blocked coronary arteries. One or more blood vessels may be used, depending on the severity and number of blockages.
